Marshall opponent Pitt football has trouble closing games

The Pittsburgh Panthers are a play away from being 3-1, and just a few more from being 4-0. Then again, they are a play away from being 1-3.

It seems the Panthers are having trouble closing out opponents, and that hurt in the worst way last week in a 37-36 loss to North Carolina.

The Panthers will try to get the last word against Marshall (1-2) on Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field. Game time is 7:30 p.m., with the contest airing on Root Sports Pittsburgh.

After opening with a mundane 28-7 win over Villanova, the Panthers took a 42-31 lead over Penn State with 10:24 left, only to see the Nittany Lions to provide a white-knuckle finish.
