Marshall quarterback Chase Litton enters his second season as the starter when the Herd opens up Sept. 10 against Morgan State.
HUNTINGTON — Four years after Rakeem Cato did it, Chase Litton is transitioning from his freshman and sophomore seasons as “the man,” and his responsibilities will reflect that.
Buoyed by a new hyper-tempo offense, Cato had a tremendous season in 2012, even though his team went 5-7. It wasn’t his fault the defense set an unwelcome school record in points allowed.
Cato’s numbers from that season: 69.5 percent completion rate, 4,201 yards, 37 touchdowns, 11 interceptions.
