SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Marshall topped its 108 points scored in a loss to UTEP with 109 in San Antonio, beating the Roadrunners of UTSA 109-91, at the UTSA Convocation Center. Marshall improves to 12-12 overall, 8-3 in Conference USA play while UTSA falls to 4-19, 2-9 overall in C-USA.
Marshall scores back-to-back 100+ points in two games for the first time since 1988-89.
Sophomore Jon Elmore scored in double figures, leading the Herd with 23 points as he hit 7-of-12 from three and 2-for-2 at the line. Right behind him was senior James Kelly, who scored 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting, an impressive 4-of-5 from three and 4-of-8 from the free-throw line, and led Marshall with nine of the Herd’s 42 rebounds, plus+5 over UTSA.
