Pepe Pearson was an accomplished Ohio State running back and has lent his experience to many others at that position.
But he has finally climbed back to major-college football, accepting the running backs coach job at Marshall. His appointment was announced Wednesday.
To say Pearson, who ran for 3,121 yards at Ohio State from 1994-97, has risen from the bottom floor is no cliche — he spent five seasons as a head coach in two obscure indoor football leagues from 2005-09.
Those were side jobs to his position at Division II Ohio Dominican, where he coached backs for 11 seasons, from 2004-14.
