Marshall defensive back Rodney Allen celebrates after breaking up a fourth-down pass in the Herd’s win over Connecticut in the St. Petersburg Bowl.
HUNTINGTON — Chuck Heater believes he has two solid cornerbacks in Rodney Allen and Chris Jackson.
With the season still 3 1/2 weeks away, Marshall’s defensive coordinator wants more.
“That’s not enough,” Heater said. “You need three and you’d like to have four or five.”
Outside observers view the cornerback position as the Thundering Herd’s biggest question mark, or close to it. One reason is clear: The unit has a combined one career start.
