HUNTINGTON — He doesn’t go overboard with praise for his players, but Marshall coach Doc Holliday isn’t stingy with it, either.
But he and his coaching staff have one tangible evidence of respect: appointment as a game captain.
The Thundering Herd generally names two offensive players and two from the defense to represent the team in the next game. As Holliday explains it, they are rewarded for their excellence and leadership in game preparation and their play on the field.
His offensive captains this week are quarterback Chase Litton and receiver Justin Hunt, both first-timers. His defensive picks are linebacker Devontre’a Tyler and defensive end Blake Keller.
