HUNTINGTON — Jaquan Yulee and JaQua Daniels will not be seen in a Marshall uniform this fall, as they did not meet freshman eligibility standards.
Other top prospects such as such as Xavier Gaines and Willie Johnson made their practice debuts as Marshall began its preseason camp Monday. All told, 16 of the 24 players that signed letters of intent in February reported.
Three defensive backs practiced in the spring: Christopher Jackson, C.J. Reavis and Jeremiah Maddox. Jackson is contending for a starting spot at cornerback, Reavis at safety.
Gaines, listed as an “athlete,” enters the camp at quarterback, competing with fellow signee Garet Morrell and “blueshirt” Jackson White in the race to back up Chase Litton.
