HUNTINGTON — It may be premature to draw parallels, but linebacker Frankie Hernandez has the full attention of Marshall coach Doc Holliday.
“I’m noticing Frankie Hernandez; I’m noticing a lot of those guys running around,” Holliday said Thursday, after the Thundering Herd’s fifth practice.
That was unprompted. A week ago, he was asked specifically about the 6-foot-2, 206-pound sophomore from Largo, Florida, and Holliday elaborated.
“He’s got the skill set, and that’s where it starts,” he said. “You saw that last year on special teams, from Game 1. He showed that he can play, he’s got the toughness and he’s got the skill set.
