HUNTINGTON — When its defense doesn’t rest, Marshall’s offense doesn’t, either.
That was the No. 1 message that came from the Thundering Herd’s 94-76 boat-racing of Western Kentucky on Sunday at Cam Henderson Center.
Marshall (5-9, 1-0) not only won its Conference USA opener, but conquered the Hilltoppers at home for the third season in a row, the last two in league play. This one was a doozy that made the visitors dizzy.
And just think: There were some numbers the Herd defense could improve upon.
Somehow, the Hilltoppers outshot the Herd 55 percent to 52.
