HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University football team was facing a large mountain to climb coming into the game with the No. 3-ranked Cardinals of Louisville — and that challenge was more than doubled when the Thundering Herd had to face U of L on Saturday night without starting sophomore Chase Litton, who was reportedly suffering from a concussion that came during last week’s lost to Akron.
That meant in front of the second largest crowd at the Joan C. Edwards Stadium, a standing-room only crowd of 40,592, just 790 less than the all-time record crowd of 41,382 set against West Virginia in 2010, true freshman Garet Morrell would be ask to try and match score-for-score with Heisman Trophy front-runner and Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson.
