MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Marshall wiped out a 16-0 deficit in the second half Saturday but fell to Middle Tennessee 83-74 at the Murphy Center.
After turning a 56-40 deficit into a 56-all tie, the Herd took a 63-61 lead. But the Blue Raiders scored the next eight points and did not relinquish the lead.
Perrin Buford scored 20 points to lead the Blue Raiders (19-9, 11-5), who tied the Thundering Herd (15-14, 11-5) for second place in the Conference USA standings. Louisiana Tech tried to join that tie later Saturday.
Darnell Harris added 18 points, Reggie Upshaw 14 and Aldonis Foote 10 for Middle Tennessee.
