BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Marshall hit the first three of the game when senior point guard Norrisha Victrum hit from outside the arc just 18 seconds into the game. The Thundering Herd led the rest of the game, eventually settling for a 76-44 blowout of No. 14 FIU, who upset No. 11 UTSA on Tuesday night (61-56) to get a game with the No. 6 seeded Marshall team.
For the Herd, it was just the second win in the Conference USA Tournament since 2010, losing round one games in 2010-11-12-13-15, with a first round win in 2014 and then a loss in round two.
