With the help of guarantee checks from big-name opponents and a little budgetary maneuvering, Marshall’s basketball team has arranged a few more charter flights than usual.
Still, as in commercial travel, the weather occasionally gets the last word.
The plan for the Thundering Herd’s weekend was to bus the team to Charlotte, North Carolina, for its game Thursday. Friday was supposed to be the day for a quick flight to Norfolk, Virginia, with the team flying back to Huntington after Saturday’s game.
By the time Marshall arrived at Charlotte’s Halton arena Thursday, the charter flights were canceled in advance of the winter storm.
