HUNTINGTON — Marshall’s 81-65 victory Monday over West Virginia Wesleyan fit the definition of “run of the mill.”
The Division I Thundering Herd never trailed, leading by double-digits for nearly 32 minutes. The Division II Bobcats were a few inches smaller, a few steps slower, and struggled in the opening minutes.
In a game that degenerated at times, both sides got what they needed, but not quite what they wanted. Marshall (7-4) got a home game and a win, and Wesleyan (5-5) got good experience to carry into its Mountain East Conference wars.
But the Bobcats wanted to win, and the Herd and its Cam Henderson Center crowd announced at 5,196 wanted a rout.
