CHARLESTON, W. Va. – Marshall baseball hasn’t had a winning season since 1994, hasn’t ever won 14 games in a complete league season and only once before has won five games in a row in Conference USA. Thanks to a Chase Boster complete game win, 1-of-3 of these marks went by the boards on Friday night at Appalachian Power Park against the Blazers of UAB.
The Herd saw Boster throw his first compete game in his Marshall career, holding the Blazers to one first inning run on seven hits, while the offense made the best of five hits, seven walks and five runs (four earned) on offense while the defense turned in a perfect night – and while the Blazers were committing three errors in the game – to get a 5-1 win to open the series with UAB.
