HUNTINGTON — A three-man committee admirably filled the void left by the absence of Terrence Thompson, but it was the usual suspects that dropped the hammer Wednesday night on Ohio.
Jon Elmore scored 28 points and Ryan Taylor had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the Thundering Herd’s 98-88 win over the Bobcats. Before 6,031 at Cam Henderson Center, the Herd snapped the visitors’ four-game streak in the 102-game series.
Marshall (5-1) buried the Bobcats (4-1) in a 7-minute, 20-second stretch of the second half, turning a 60-58 nail-biter into an 87-71 romp with 4:30 left. Long forgotten was the Bobcats’ 9-0 run to start the second half, which gave them a 47-42 lead.
