HUNTINGTON — When Doc Holliday scanned the field in the latter stages of his Marshall football team’s loss to Florida International, his original starting line was all but gone.
When center Levi Brown went down, that meant three-fifths of the line that started the season was gone — from center to right tackle, Brown, Michael Selby and Clint Van Horn.
At the same time, the Thundering Herd’s entire tight end stable — considered one of the team’s strengths — was empty. Lineman A.J. Addison had to put on a No. 92 and play the position, and he surely didn’t split out to run routes.
