HUNTINGTON — Call it what you will — too many turnovers (26), young bench not bringing much to contest (bench scoring 52-to-2), not holding lead (plus 21 in first half), outscored in paint, off turnovers or second chance when it came to points — the Marshall women’s team went to the locker room up 41-24 at halftime against a team shooting only 22.2%. In the second half, the Herd allowed senior Brittny Norris of Southern Miss to score 33 of her 35 points, including 12-of-17 from the field and 7-of-12 from three to let one get away in a 82-78 loss to Southern Miss Thursday night at the Cam Henderson Center.
