HUNTINGTON — Marshall’s women’s team bounced back from a “good-effort” 6-point loss against West Virginia on Sunday to top the Red Flash of St. Francis (Pa.) in a Thursday matinee, 81-73, at the Cam Henderson Center.
The game was held at noon to keep from conflicting with the men’s game against West Virginia tonight at the Charleston (W.Va.) Civic Center in the 44th annual Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic, with a crowd of only 289 in attendance for a $5 ticket plan that included a Pepsi, hot dog and popcorn, and a similar deal is in effect for Sunday’s 1 p.
