CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Marshall made the most of the start, middle and end of game two with UAB on Saturday afternoon at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, as the Herd scored two in the first, one in the fifth and one in the 11th to win its sixth Conference USA series in eight tries, won its 26th game of the year and won its fifth straight Conference USA contest with a record-extending 15th win in C-USA play. Junior shortstop Leo Valenti delivered the walkoff home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift Marshall (26-17, 15-8 Conference USA) to a 4-3 win over the UAB Blazers (19-27, 10-13 C-USA) after the Herd had scored three runs on two home runs off the bat of junior first baseman Tommy Lane in the other two innings Marshall scored.
