Herd Rallies For Sweep of UAB, Six Straight C-USA Wins

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Marshall baseball team’s assault on the Thundering Herd record book continued on Sunday when Marshall led 5-0, saw UAB come back to tie the game in sixth 5-5 and then scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to complete the sweep of the Blazers and win its sixth straight Conference USA game, 9-5.

Marshall swept at Middle Tennessee last weekend and swept UAB at Appalachian Power Park to complete the first back-to-back conference sweeps since Coach Jack Cook’s 1983 team won two Southern Conference games at Greenville, S.C. against Furman, 3-2 and 10-7, and came home to sweep Western Carolina in two SoCon games in Huntington, 9-8 and 5-3.
