HUNTINGTON — Ryan Taylor scored 27 dominating points and Austin loop added 20 Monday night, as Marshall won its last home game of the calendar year, 92-73 over North Carolina Central.
It was the Thundering Herd’s third win in a row after opening the season 0-6, and provides more momentum heading into Thursday’s Capital Classic against West Virginia at the Civic Center.
The Herd (3-6) took finished the first half with a 13-4 run to give it a 46-41 lead, then steadily — and flashingly — pulled away in the second.
Marshall shot 54.4 percent from the floor, with Loop burying 6 of 12 from 3-point range.
