Herd Men’s Basketball Beats W.Va. Wesleyan, 81-65

HUNTINGTON — Marshall University and West Virginia Wesleyan began playing basketball back on January 12, 1923, first meeting in Buckhannon, W.Va. at the home of the Bobcats. Two years later, the teams met in Huntington in the first of many games the two founding members of the WVIAC would battle between that first league meeting through Jan. 2, 1965. That had been the last game between the teams (at the Veterans Memorial Field House) until Monday evening in the Cam Henderson Center, celebrating its 35th Anniversary since opening back on Nov. 27, 1981 (beating Army in that inaugural game).
