CHARLESTON, W. Va. — On Friday night, Marshall had a “team cycle” when four players in a row hit, in order, a home run, triple, double and single to lead the Herd to a 7-4 win over Louisiana Tech in the opening game of the Conference USA series with the Bulldogs at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston.
On Sunday, it was just one Herd player who hit for the cycle — the first since Coach Jeff Waggoner started leading the Thundering Herd in the 2007 season, and the first for Marshall since who knows when — and the Herd won its second-straight Conference USA series with a 10-4 win over the Bulldogs.
