HUNTINGTON — Marshall men’s basketball had not played the Toledo Rockets since Marshall left the Mid-American Conference after the 2004-05 season, and hadn’t beaten the Rockets since 2003. But in the first meeting in over two decades, it took overtime for the Thundering Herd to top Toledo, 111-105, in Marshall’s sixth-straight win in the Cam Henderson Center this season.
The Herd is now 6-3, tied for the third best record in Conference USA, and wins six in a row to open the season at home for the first time since the 2009-10 season. The Rockets, playing the fifth overtime games (2-3 so far) in 10 games, drop to 4-6 on the season with the loss.
