HUNTINGTON — For the second day in a row, the Marshall baseball team managed to win a one-run game against the WKU Hilltoppers at the George T. Smailes Sr. Baseball Field at the YMCA Kennedy Center on Route 2 north of the MU campus, or as the players call it, “The Deuce.” But the comparisons between Friday’s 3-2 win on a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the ninth and Saturday’s battle of 28 hits and 19 runs in the Herd’s 10-9 win would have nothing in common except Marshall winning.
By the way, with the win today the Herd improves to 23-23 overall, 11-12 in Conference USA and remains in the race for the Conference USA Championships down in Mississippi starting on May 24.
