HUNTINGTON — He has not been officially named Marshall’s No. 2 quarterback, but true freshman Garet Morrell is looking the part more each day.
He had a solid scrimmage Saturday, hitting a few long passes on a hot afternoon at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. He suffered through some of the usual freshman problems, but earned high marks from his coaches.
Meeting the media for the first time, Morrell looked as comfortable as anyone on the team. Had the firmest handshake, for certain.
“It’s a great experience,” he said. “I knew coming in it was going to be tough, but having Chase [Litton] in front of me, getting to be in his ear and pick up new things, I’m getting it down and I’m ready to get out here and just keep ballin’.
