Herd senior pitcher Jamie Dixon, the Conference USA Pitcher of the Year, throws a no-hitter in seven innings against WKU and Marshall wins 2-0 in the opening game of the C-USA Tournament. Morgan Zerkle, the C-USA Player of the Year in the league, homered and scored an unearned run on a dropped out in the WKU outfield.
Marshall will move on in the double-elimination portion of the tournament on Friday. Saturday’s championship game is a winner takes the title game and is for the NCAA bid from C-USA.
