If Dan D’Antoni has his way, he’ll miss his induction into the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
The second-year Marshall coach, a longtime fixture in the Myrtle Beach area, was elected into the hall’s sixth class and will be inducted March 18 in Columbia.
One thing stands in the way of his attending that ceremony: His Thundering Herd team could be occupied with one of the postseason tournaments. The NCAA tournament, National Invitation Tournament and others begin that week.
D’Antoni is being honored for his 30 years at Socastee High, where he won 524 games and eight region tournament titles.
