IRVING, Texas – WKU clinched its second C-USA regular-season crown outright with a thrilling win at Rice and will enter the upcoming Conference USA Women’s Basketball Championship presented by MetroPCS with the top overall seed. The Lady Toppers (24-6, 16-2 C-USA) notched 16 league wins, which ties the C-USA single-season record with four other programs, with the most recent example being last year’s UTEP squad (29-5, 16-2).
WKU won its lone C-USA Championship in its first year of membership (2015) as the No. 1 seed and fell in the quarterfinals last season as the No. 3 seed.
