HATTIESBURG, Miss. — No. 5Louisiana Tech, ranked No. 27 in the nation, bounced back from a tough 13-12 loss to Rice in round one of the Conference USA Baseball Championships, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, but rebounded on Thursday to bounce No. 8 Charlotte out of the tournament with a 13-3 win called for a mercy rule in the eighth at Pete Taylor Park.
Tech improves to 38-17 and moves on in the tournament to a Friday game, while Charlotte will head home at 23-32 on the season.
