HUNTINGTON — The collegiate debut Monday of Jon Elmore gives Marshall coach Dan D’Antoni more flexibility in setting his starting lineup and subsequent rotations.
It’s not really a problem, and if it was it would be welcome. Suddenly, the Thundering Herd has a longer bench. Not necessarily the longest, but longer.
That was on display in the Herd’s 92-73 win over North Carolina Central. The bench was outscored 28-23 by the Eagles, but that’s as good as a wash compared to early results.
Monday, D’Antoni inserted Elmore into the starting lineup, essentially in place of C.
