In a photo taken shortly after midnight on Monday morning, electrical wiring burns on a light tower at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, home of the Marshall football team. Authorities confirmed that arson was involved.
HUNTINGTON — Efforts are under way to make sure all four electrical towers at Joan C. Edwards Stadium will be in working order when the Marshall football team plays there Saturday.
The concern is the northeast tower, where one of two poles was scorched late Sunday night when a fire from nearby portable toilets and handwashing stations damaged electrical wiring.
Structural and electrical engineers are examining the pole in particular and the light tower in general.
