CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte’s women’s basketball team got 65 points from the trio of Lefty Webster, who scored 24, Alexis Alexander with 22 and Kira Gordon, who added 19, to power the 49ers to an 87-77 win over visiting Marshall Thursday evening at Halton Arena.
The group combined to shoot 26-for-42 (61.9 percent) from the field while the rest of the team went 6-for-22 (27.2 percent) — giving Charlotte a 32-of-64 shooting night, 50%. The Herd hit 26-of-63, 41.3%, and was just 8-of-26 from three (30.8%), including a dismal 1-for-8 from three in the fourth quarter.
