College Football Championship Saturday is an underrated day on the college basketball calendar. It’s the first day of the college hoops season where there’s so little college football on television that the networks turn to basketball to fill their airtime.
As a result, we’ve got 17 games on a national broadcast today, with 10 games involving at least one ranked opponent, and four games between two ranked foes. Not coincidentally, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame organized a pair of neutral site doubleheaders today, one in Miami and the other in Los Angeles, and three of those four contests are on national TV today.
