Georgetown was able to hang on and narrowly beat the Marquette women’s lacrosse team 13-12 Saturday afternoon.
In a tight back and forth matchup, neither team was able to gain more than a three-goal lead. The first half saw Marquette and Georgetown trade goals but the Hoyas rallied to score three goals to take an 8-7 lead into halftime. Cate Soccodato led Marquette with a hat trick in the first half, and would score one more in the second marking a career-best four goals.
The Golden Eagles started the second half slow and found themselves trailing 10-7 early in the second half.
