All Golden Eagles, your favorite team of Marquette alumni had to do to get to The Basketball Tournament’s championship game was hand Overseas Elite, the three-time defending champions, their first loss in their 24 games of action.
It didn’t happen.
In fact, it wasn’t even really close.
Overseas Elite ran out to a 28-6 lead in the first quarter and, believe it or not, that was pretty much that. Sure, Golden Eagles made things interesting, trimming it to just nine at the half, and eight at the start of the fourth quarter. But it seems they were spent by that point, and OE got the lead back to 18 at the start of the Elam Ending before outscoring the MU guys 7-0 to hit the Target Score and bring things to a conclusion, 85-60.
