Last year, Marquette women’s basketball took an undefeated Big East record into McDonough Arena and came away with a horrendous loss. This year, MU brought a #15 ranking in the AP poll with them, and while Sunday afternoon’s contest against Georgetown could not be called “fun” on any level, Carolyn Kieger’s squad did come away with the 72-62 victory. They’re now 14-3 overall this season and 5-0 in Big East play. That has them in a perfect tie with Butler atop the conference standings with everyone else in the league taking at least two losses already.
