Streaky guard play an issue for Golden Eagles

A third of the way into the Big East season, Marquette is about where it was expected to be at 12-6 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

Losses to Villanova and Xavier, a pair of top-five teams, as well as a defeat at Georgetown and a home win over St. John's weren't surprises. Falling to Seton Hall at home was a bit unexpected, but so was beating then-No. 8 Providence at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Entering its game at 7 p.m. Wednesday against DePaul (6-12, 0-6) at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, Marquette's biggest weakness is a predictable one.
