It's a second chance for Marquette's Morgan Proffitt, and an unexpected one at that.
She was on the radar for the U.S. women's soccer program four years ago, before her senior year at Columbus North High School in Indiana.
But a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered four days before the start of the U.S. Under-18 national team camp put Proffitt's dreams on hold.
Fast forward from 2012 to 2016 and the defensive midfielder is on her way to London on Saturday with the rest of the U.S. Under-23 women's team, to compete in the Nordic Tournament against Norway, Sweden and England.
