USA Basketball announced a list of 28 invitees to the 2017 U19 World Cup Team Training Camp on Thursday, and Marquette’s Markus Howard was not on the list. As you may have heard during the 2016-17 season, Howard did not turn 18 until March 2017, so he is clearly age eligible for a tournament open to anyone up to those players who are turning 19 during the 2017 calendar year.
Howard averaged a team high 13.2 points as a freshman, along with 2.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He was also the most accurate three-point shooter in the country amongst those with enough attempts to qualify for the list, shooting 54.
