As was the case a year ago, Marquette women’s soccer heads into the second weekend of the season without a goal to their name. It’s not what you want.
MU got off to a lousy start in match #1, getting outshot badly by Colorado State, a program starting its seventh season, and giving up a goal less than 10 minutes into the year. That compounded into a 2-0 loss by the end of the match. That was followed up with a 1-0 loss to Ball State on a late goal in a match where Marquette seemed to hold an advantage in the course of play for most of the early section.
