When Marquette women’s soccer went to Omaha earlier this season, part of their problem in the 3-0 loss to Creighton was a penalty kick goal by the Bluejays early in the second half. That gave Creighton a 2-0 lead and allowed them some breathing space to control the match the rest of the way.
A penalty kick goal by Creighton played a big part on Thursday at Valley Fields, too.
Aida Kardovic’s PK in the 38th minute leveled the match at one goal each and that led to overtime where Ansley Atkinson scored the golden goal to give Creighton a 2-1 victory over Marquette.
