Two Big East matches, two losses for Marquette women’s soccer this season.
Alex Campana leveled the match at a goal a piece in the 80th minute on Thursday night at Valley Fields, but MU keeper Maddy Henry got caught having to cover for her defender in the second overtime period, allowing Providence to home with the 2-1 extra time victory. The Golden Eagles are now just 3-8-0 on the year with four losses coming in extra time, and 0-2-0 in Big East play.
It looked like the Golden Eagles were going to be able to escape an evenly played first half with a scoreless tie at the break, but PC broke the ice on the match with a goal from Kelsie Cummings with 56 seconds left in the front end.
