A slow start didn’t derail Marquette women’s lacrosse on Saturday, as they still ended up with a 16-3 victory over Butler. With the win, Marquette is now 7-7 on the year and 1-1 in Big East play with three conference games left to go.
With a 38-5 margin in the meetings between Marquette and Butler in the past two seasons, the final margin of this game is not terribly surprising. However, when it was 3-1 Marquette with seven minutes left in the first half.... well, that was a bit of a surprise. Marquette was playing perfectly fine lacrosse, they just weren’t scoring goals.
