GOOD NEWS: Marquette Golden Eagles women’s lacrosse outscored #18 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7-5 in the second half on Wednesday evening.
BAD NEWS: Notre Dame was up 10-3 at halftime, which meant that the Golden Eagles left South Bend with a loss, final score: 15-10.
Marquette drops to 3-3 on the season and continues their streak of having never defeated a nationally ranked team.
It was a pretty ugly first half for the Golden Eagles. In addition to that 10-3 margin in goals, which was powered by four from ND’s Andie Aldave, Marquette got outshot, 21-11, outhustled to ground balls, 13-10, out drawn, 8-6, and, perhaps most importantly, outdone on free position shots.
