As you may have seen back in December from the Marquette Wire, Marquette women’s basketball transfer forward Tori McCoy has been diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, a rare kidney disease. At the time of the diagnosis, McCoy has suffered 80% damage to her kidneys, and for her long-term health, she will require a transplant.
That may take a while though, and for now, McCoy is receiving dialysis treatment three times a week while continuing to attend class at Marquette, and, believe it or not, continuing to participate in basketball activities with the team.
As you might expect, this kind of a thing is putting a bit of a financial strain on the McCoy family.
