Ryan McNamara and Andy DeMichiei joined the ranks of Marquette Golden Eagles drafted to play professional lacrosse on Sunday when both men were selected in the 2017 Major League Lacrosse Draft. McNamara went #49 overall to the Rochester Rattlers, while DeMichiei was taken with the 80th overall pick by the Ohio Machine.
The pair join four former Marquette players already in the MLL: Liam Byrnes, Conor Gately, B.J. Grill, and Jacob Richard, with McNamara literally joining Gately in Rochester. McNamara and DeMichiei are the fourth and fifth Golden Eagles ever selected in the MLL Draft, as Gately was a supplemental draft selection by the Rattlers in December.
