On Tuesday, Marquette announced a contract extension for head women’s basketball Carolyn Kieger. Her contract now runs through the 2022-23 season.
Marquette has a record of 48-46 under Kieger’s guidance, with the three victories needed to win the 2017 Big East tournament pushing Kieger over .500 for her career. After a rough first season where the Golden Eagles went 9-22, things got even more difficult for Kieger as the roster was decimated by both the end of eligibility and transfer. Left with just two returning reserve players, Kieger guided the youngest team in Division 1 to a 14-16 record overall capped off by a 9-9 record in Big East action.
