Marquette athletes led a march to fight social inequality and injustice Friday afternoon.
Coaches, students, faculty and members of the Milwaukee community walked alongside them for the one-mile route, which stretched from the Athletic and Human Performance Research Center to Valley Fields.
Support was also shown by people were just passing by, many of whom honked their car horns or raised a fist in solidarity.
The march was organized by athletes and also received support from the Black Student Council of Marquette. The council recently proposed a Black student reform plan that among other goals aims to “improve the experiences of its Black students” and “to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.
